Peacock Bass

Question: With flies can i use for peacock bass?

I live in Panama (the country) and i love fly fishing, i go to the gatun lake and i always use this popper fly that works pretty well with the small ones but i want to catch a big one (3 pounds or more) because I'm leaving panama to live in spain and i only have one weekend to go fishing so what type of fly do you recommend me to make the big ones go out?

Big, heavy bulky popping bugs and large streamers. And not to mention a minimum 8- to 10-weight fly rod.

I'm just green with envy right now. You just had to throw this out there. Recommended flies for peacock bass are: A) STREAMERS : 1) Wool flies 2) Rabbit tail slider 3) Deceivers ( best bet ) B) Poppers: 1) Dahlsberg divers 2) Foam poppers ( old faithfuls) 5-8 inch length flies will catch the bigger Peacock Bass. You know what they say, " the bigger the bait the bigger the fish but you should take into account what the local anglers say as to what works best. ; ) ~ good luck catchin'.
